Our goal is to foster respect, compassion, and stewardship for North Carolina’s native species and natural habitats, empowering the next generation to protect and preserve the world we share.

At OWLS, our education programs are designed to inspire a deeper understanding of how people and wildlife are connected. We teach that every one of us plays an active role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem, and that our daily choices—whether at home, school, or in the community—directly affect all living things.

Through interactive presentations, classroom visits, and on-site learning experiences, we provide engaging, age-appropriate lessons on native wildlife, habitat conservation, and the importance of coexistence. Participants learn how to safely respond to injured or orphaned wildlife, reduce human-wildlife conflicts, and make environmentally responsible decisions in their everyday lives.
